All About “The Women” - An Art Show by Yau Bee Ling

It has been a couple of years since Yau Bee Ling’s first solo art exhibition in 2008, but from now till 9 April 2013 contemporary art enthusiasts can pop by Wei-Ling Contemporary in The Gardens Mall  and check out her second solo exhibition titled “The Women”.

Bee Ling is best known for her distinctive multi-layered painting style, where she layers colours upon colours to represent her many “layers” of introspection, inviting viewers to connect deeper with her artworks than just the surface.

“The Women” collection showcases women in various stances, in groups, solo or with children - almost a virtual extension of Bee Ling and her relationships with those around her. The artworks also portray the rediscovery of Bee Ling’s femininity which she had briefly lost touch with after a period spent devoted to the upbringing of her children.
