Psy Releases New Single: The New Viral Dance Video and Why South Koreans May Not Be a Big Fan

South Korean singer, songwriter and Gangnam Style connoisseur has released his new single titled ‘Gentlemen’ last week. ‘Gentlemen’ have also generated more than 100 million views just after 3 days on YouTube compared to ‘Gangnam Style’ that reached 100 million viewers in 44 days. Before releasing his track online, Psy performed his new single at the Seoul World Cup stadium during his ‘Happening’ concert which was streamed worldwide live by Youtube. The music video however, was banned from South Korea’s government funded broadcast station, KBS. KBS claimed that the video showed Psy abusing public property in South Korea, in which the opening sequence of the music video, the rapper kicks a traffic cone that says “No parking” before laughing riotously and pointing to the camera.

‘Gangnam Style’ has stirred dance frenzies among viewers around the world with parodies made and posted on social networking websites. Could his new single be the start of a new dance phenomenon? And with ‘Gangnam Style’ fetching more than 1 billion views on Youtube, is it possible that Psy breaks the record with this new single despite having restrictions in his own native country?
