WHY PARTICIPATE?
A systematic and proper voice training course for actors is a rarity in Malaysia. While there are many vocal instructors, most of them focus on singing techniques. And although speaking and singing share some fundamental concepts, their approaches are different and not mutually replaceable.

How often do you hear a musical theatre actor sing beautifully and passionately, but when he/she starts to speak, it sounds disconnected?

Many aspiring actors (and some experienced ones, too) have to always deal with the so-called ‘voice projection’ issue. They either speak too softly, or end up shouting most of their lines. Even when the volume is appropriate, the uttered words sometimes do not seem to connect to the impulses, the intentions.

This workshop will open the door to finding and freeing your natural voice–a voice that is connected to impulses, and expresses what you (or the character) truly intend to communicate. It is not about speaking beautifully, but expressing with full intention and impact.

ABOUT KRISTIN LINKLATER’S VOICE TRAINING
Kristin Linklater is an influential voice teacher, who has developed a series of vocal training methods that have helped many–actors, public speakers and everyday communicators–to understand and improve the quality of their vocal expressions.

Her well-known students include Patrick Stewart, Donald Sutherland, Alfre Woodard and Bill Murray.

Christina Koch is a certified Linklater voice instructor. She is also an accomplished actor and director with twenty years of experience. An Australian, Christina is currently based in Kuala Lumpur and provides voice, speech and language coaching in her home country and South East Asian one
